A bronze-patinated and ivory okimono from the Tokyo School depicting a Geisha dancing with fans.

The Geisha is delicately carved in ivory and bronze, with finely patinated clothing and details. She is portrayed in a dance pose, with her fans open around her, creating an atmosphere of movement and lightness.

Her smiling face expresses pride and serenity, while her eyes shine with joy and grace. Her hair is gathered with a kushi, a geisha comb, adorned with a rose on the side, adding a touch of femininity and sophistication to her figure.

The dark patina of the Geisha’s attire highlights the details of the kimono, such as the cushion and the reddish obi sash. These details add depth and richness to the overall composition, creating a pleasing and dynamic contrast between different textures and colors.

The signature engraved under the base reads ‘Masatsune kore tsukuru (saku)’ 正常之作.
