A Japanese lacquered wood Oni mask with a dark brown patina and finely sculpted details.
The expression of the mask, although comical, is imbued with a subtle veil of fear, creating an evocative balance between the humorous and the eerie. The glass-painted eyes, bright and piercing, add a magnetic depth, capturing the viewer’s gaze and conveying a sense of mystery.
